While most of our other staff are PC users, our one other Mac user in the company has never had this problem. I always use the most updated version of Google Chrome for Mac. As an admin and executive management, it is very frustrating that I have to ask staff members to grant me access to something that has previously been shared and that should be showing up in my searches. Once I click that link, then I can see and access the file. Usually someone else has to create a shareable link for me. There is no rhyme or reason as to which shared files are non-visible to me. Other staff will then search for me, and will verify that these files and folders have previously been shared with me, and that they should be appearing in My Drive or Shared with Me, but they are not. Look for the triangle-shaped Google Drive icon in your Mac’s menu bar.
And you can even access the files when you’re offline they update next time you have internet. For some unknown reason, I am often unable to see or find shared files or folders, even when given the exact filename or folder name for searching. You’ll always have the latest files no matter where or who makes them. I am an admin for our G-Suite account, where we store all client files, personnel files, internal forms, shared work product, etc.
